Saint Patrick was a gentleman,
Who through strategy and stealth,
Drove all the snakes from Ireland,
Here’s a toasting to his health.
But not too many toastings
Lest we lose ourselves and then…
Forget the good Saint Patrick
And see them snakes again!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Surf’s up! A northwest swell is in full force this weekend. Two dozen of the top big- wave surfers in the world voted yesterday for the 7th Mavericks Surf Contest to take place this Saturday, February 13th at 8:00AM PST in Half Moon Bay, California. The legendary swells are expected to be huge. Forecasters predict waves with as much as a 50 foot face!
The surfers will be a half-mile off the coast, so it’s difficult to watch the competition from the nearest beach. If you’re in the area, the best place to soak up the vibe and to watch in awe and dread, will be at AT&T Park located in downtown San Francisco. Live satellite feed of the big-wave action will be shown on a 110′ x 31’ high definition screen above center field and HD flat panel screens throughout the Club Level. Tickets are $20 – $25, food and beverages will be available for purchase. For surf fans unable to attend, have no fear – these riders obviously don’t – live webcasts will be
available on www.maverickssurf.com, www.ustream.tv and FLO TV™ enabled mobile handsets.
Mavericks has postponed the contest two years in a row due to the lack of enormous waves. So the stakes are high for these adrenaline junkies. The prize is $150,000 – the highest ever! It’s going to be big, choppy and quite possibly, a little scary. We wish those who dare good luck!
