The Jazz88 Ocean Beach Music & Art Festival is happening this Saturday, September 11th. Ocean Bean always puts on a good show and the location, right on the water at the OB Pier, couldn’t be better. There’s nothing like drinking a few beers in the nice San Diego sunshine on a lazy Saturday.
Tickets are $30 and give you access to 6 stages and the Craft Beer garden, sponsored by Pizza Port and Ballast Point breweries.
The festival has been expanded to seven stages, 26 musical acts, and up to 60 fine art vendors. Stages will be located at locations along Newport Avenue, including Winstons, Gallaghers, The Harp, and at the foot of the OB Pier, among other locations. The art vendors will be located all along Newport Avenue between Cable and Bacon.
Music acts include Maceo Parker, Marcia Ball, Bonerama, Charlie Hunter Trio, Justo Almario, Geoffrey Keezer Trio, Ernie Watts Q uintet, Gilbert Castellanos Latin Jazz Quintet, Luther Hughes and the Cannonball-Coltrane Project, Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, Holly Hofmann/Mike Wofford Trio, San Diego State University All Star Big Band with Special Guest Bobby Shew, Nathan James Band, 4 Queens of Boogie Woogie (featuring Sue Palmer), Agua Dulce, Jazz88 All Stars, ESP, Cynthia Hammond Trio, Lady Dottie & The Diamonds, B-3 Four, Bedford Grove, StyleTones, MLK Community Choir, The Mission Bay High School Dixieland Band, Tribute to our U.S. Military
